On the 22nd and 23rd of July 2025, we put applicants for the ENGAGE Training Program to the test, quite literally.
From hundreds of impressive applications received, we will be selecting 120 young ladies to join this year’s cohort. To help with the selection process, we held a math contest to assess critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which are essential for our training program. The Contest was held in all our 6 regional universities, where the successful applicants will be trained;
1) Kabarak University
2) Meru University of Science and Technology
3) Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology
4) Pwani University
5) Dedan Kimathi University of Technology
6) South Eastern Kenya University
With the help of our trainers, we also conducted one-on-one interviews that gave us a glimpse into each candidate’s motivation, story, and drive. It was a thoroughly rewarding experience to engage with these brilliant minds.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our regional universities and their staff for excellently coordinating the contest; to their communication and ICT teams for capturing memorable moments and guiding applicants throughout; and to our ENGAGE Project team for making this a proud success and a major milestone in empowering the next generation of women. We wish all our applicants the very best.
Keep an eye out for upcoming developments. We can’t wait to introduce you to the next generation of public health changemakers.
