The meeting that shaped our year

Following a successful pilot year, we convened at Pride Inn Plaza, Nairobi, to align on priorities and define the path forward.

As the first major activity of the year, the workshop offered a timely opportunity to reflect on our journey so far. What began as a vision to equip young women and girls with skills in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning is now taking firm shape.

With the insights gained from our pilot phase, we are moving with greater clarity and purpose.

In 2025, we aim to train 240 young women and girls. 120 of whom will be final year undergraduate or diploma students pursuing STEM courses and the other half, form 3 highschool girls. Yes, we are taking data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning to highschools.

The annual workplan workshop laid the groundwork for achieving this target. Key focus areas included curriculum development, piloting  new training modules, strengthening internship opportunities, and implementing a robust alumni tracking system, in what promises to be an exciting year.
